Hi Block Island. Sorry about the delay, but my job takes me out of town quite often.

My wife and I just purchased our boat last year and are still getting to know her. We want to retire in 3 years and live aboard her while traveling, as you seem to be doing.

A Shannon owners forum would be a great idea, Hopefully there would be more than two Shannon owners on it. If it doesn't come to be, hopefully we could PM you and pick your brain about your experience with your Shannon and the live aboard life.

I have a great ketch, hull number 10 which has been completely restored. Teak is bright with 10 coats and now I have several professional "varnishes" from the Islands that will keep her that way, at a reasonable cost.

A Shannon owners group is a great idea! My wife and I own a 1978 Shannon 38', one of the best medium/heavy displacement cruising boats in the world.

My wife and I are in the process of buying a Shannon 28.

We hope to bring her home from Annapolis to Solomons within the next several days.

I went from a Southern Cross 31 (16 yrs) to a Tartan 3500 (8 yrs) to a Beneteau 36.7 (8 yrs). An evolution that has now come full circle.

Oops, noticed that you have a Shannon 43'. Same hull as Afrodesia, Morgan Freeman's 43'? I saw her listed on yacht world recently for sale on Virgin Gorda. She's a special yacht for some special $$.
