I was just looking at the CAD images and saw this:

First thing that struck me was the very squared doors. But maybe that's all their CAD program had loaded in. It takes a long time to build a 3D model, at least when I used to do it.

I render stuff all the time. Round, square, no difference. I would expect any rendering they release would be as close to the finished design as possible. At least it would be if I was doing it. Don't see any reason why they wouldn't also.

Lot's more stuff is rendered than people realize. Probably 95% of the images in an IKEA catalog are renderings.

This rendering is okay, except for the light emitted by the wall sconce to the left of the door. That is actually really terrible.

That looks more like a cheap apartment than a sailboat to me. Yuck! You buy a Hinckley and you get apartment doors! I guess they are too cheap to make arched doors....

Maybe they were also unable to render handrails and a rail going down those steps. Gawd, that looks like it would take a gymnast to get to those square doors in any sea.

Julie,

Ask yourself how what you see in that Hinckley would work in a seaway. Where are the handholds? Why make doors so large? Where are the dorades for ventilation?

So, I'm looking at the panel edges of modular furniture photo trying to figure out what the panel stock is. I can see some blue foam sandwich made with door skins, but what about the rest? MDF?

Doesn't look like marine ply to me...
