Arrow Looking for Adventure

Quick rundown:

Grew up on boats and around the water. Graduated from a Marine Navigation Program in 2003 and worked on the Atlantic Coast and Great Lakes for 3 years on a small oil tanker before changing careers (sometimes $ talks) and getting my Power Engineers ticket and working in the oilfields of Alberta the past 10 years. I've come full circle and it's time to get back where I belong on the water.

I spend my summers sailing my small 22' English style bilge keel on the Bras d'Or Lakes.

STCW 95 Bridgewatch + Competent Helmsman Testimonial
4th Class Power Engineer Ticket
Carpentry skills I have obtained the last 25 years under a local boat builder and master carpenter.... my old man.
Numerous safety tickets and OHS training.
Competent in small engine troubleshooting and repair, the positive side of usually buying everything 2nd hand I guess.

35 years young, jack of all trades I guess you could say. I'm open to any adventure and will clear my schedule for the right opportunity !!!

I like good people, good laughs, good beer and love to learn. Looking forward to this next chapter wherever it may take me. First time I've been truly excited about something in a few years to be honest.

Any information, suggestions, or opportunities you can pass along will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to learn a little about me, hopefully see you on the water.

Cheers

Fantastic! Was it hard to fit your brass bollocks in such a small boat?

Re: Looking for Adventure

I'm still looking for another crew member for my 9 day adventure in the PNW next month. If you can get yourself to the left coast, you sound like the type of person who would enjoy a trip like this. Here's my crew wanted post, let me know if you're interested. http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...nw-183732.html

Haha thanks. Wish they were brass then wouldn't have lost 5 layers of skin off them due to salt sores [emoji23][emoji1303]

Looking at those engineering skills dude you could referb an older wooden class rowboat too. I completely referb'd from a bare hull up. That was a major part of the fun and experience.
I'm just taking early retirement (29years service) from the fire service and Looking for more adventures of my own. .
Good luck with yours [emoji1303][emoji1303]

Re: Looking for Adventure

Hey cruiser , John here located Bowen Is. near Vancouver. I sail a Miller 44 ft. CC cutter. I'm spending the next several months upgrading systems and sailing the **** out of my boat to get ready for cruising to Mexico in early fall
I could use help over the summer and crew during that time as well as when heading south
Might be a possibility if we are compatable. The boat is older but solid and a good sailor. So far it will be me and my girlfriend we're a youngish 50 plus age wise and like fishing , surfing , beer Mexican food and speaking Spanish. Cheers

Re: Looking for Adventure

I don't need crew and I don't take strangers on board... and I don't provide a learning environment for others... nor a platform for adventurers... I sail alone, with my wife or with friends who sail or don't.... and I like their company... Maybe I am odd... but my boat is my home...

Re: Looking for Adventure

Hi,
My husband's crew just jumped ship in Norfolk, VA. He is heading up the coast now in small jumps to gloucester, MA where we live. I would be willing to pay transportation and food. Good friend of ours lives in Tatamagouche and we have cousins in Cape Breton.
