Living Aboard in Singapore

I will be based in Singapore for an extended period from October 08 and would like suggestions or advice about living aboard (24 m motor sailor) in Singapore or perhaps in nearby Malaysia. I will be working in the Jurong area and will have a car so I will be able to travel.

The RSYC has agreed to accept us as live aboard but at a price $$$$$$$. I know that Singapore is expensive but perhaps someone knows of an alternative.

Cheers
Claude-Pierre

Singapore is realizing that on-shore housing is rediculously priced. As a result some people with larger yachts have figured out that it might be cheaper to stay on the yacht. The marinas have figured this out and so the prices are going to soar.

Have to talked to Raffles? 24m is a pretty big boat.

Raffles is a very nice marina, and well located, I heard that they do not encourage long staying visitors, but I have not yet spoken to them directly - will do so early next week. Do you think that they are cheaper?
I would consider becoming a member (if this is possible) if this would save money in the long run.

What about Changi? I see that you are located there. I heard that they have both berths and moorings for visiting boats but I have not yet confirmed.

Cheers
