French Ploynesia / Bora Bora

Flying (sadly not sailing) to Papeete Tahiti Feb 14-25. Looking for some tips from my sailing comrades about getting from Island to Island cheap (will refuse almost no offers of free rides ). Seriously, the only reason I can afford this trip is because someone gave me a free timeshare in Morea and someone else got me half price, round trip tickets ($400!!!!). Would LOVE to get over to Bora Bora and looking for a way to get there without paying $500 round trip air fares. Tried reaching out to some cargo vessels but no responses yet. Also looking for suggestions about what else to see while out there.

There are inter-island ferries, flights, and cargo ships; I think your best bet is to inquire at tourist offices there (Papeete, Tahiti will have a lot more resources than Moorea). If you have a handheld VHF, bring it and maybe connect with an island hopping yachtie. Also, Huahine is only 85 west of Moorea and our favorite in the Society islands. Have fun!
