Video of Last Weekend's Overnight Trip !

So last weekend I took my Montgomery 17 out for a shakedown cruise before I head to the Florida Keys in about 2 weeks. I set sail out of Panama City, Florida and headed east in the Gulf over to Crooked Island for the night.

I had a great sail and was videoing my trip along the way. Take a look at my adventure, I hope you enjoy it!

You can click the link on the top of the video to go to Youtube and watch it in HD!

I sail the Pensacola area.

I would like everyone to know that this video must have been edited heavily and it appears the special effects were liberally used. The Emerald Coast is a nasty, hot area filled with mosquitoes and rednecks. You should avoid it at all costs and leave me to my misery.

The OP should be ashamed.

Thanks for sharing. Looks like lots of fun...

Like your woodworking vids as well.

Were you in calibration mode when calibrating your tiller pilot? The reason I ask is it looks like the pilot was steering. If I recall I hand steered the circles when calibrating my compass. It isnt really inuitive when you are in cal mode.

Re: Video of last weekend's overnight trip!

Chatt, that would indeed! But I am trailering down to Marathon and going from there..... Gives me about 5 or more days to spend in the Keys instead of in transit.

Piglet, no editing here, everything that you see is how it is, straight up. Watch my other videos, I am not nearly good enough to use special effects.

Ex-Calif, I'm not totally sure, I was rushing it. I will carefully double check myself next time I try it. I figure I'll just try it again in the Keys and if it works it works, if not, I'll just do it the old fashioned way lol. Thanks for the suggestions.

Cheech, if the Keys aren't exciting enough for a second trip back I will taking on the Bahamas next! Eventually though!
