If I'm not broke, I start to use the money I have on the boat until I'm broke again...

Re: The most pathetic thing------

Very interesting thread. Thanks for posting.

Define pathetic, compassionate or contemptuous

As cruisers, we may choose compassion or contempt...
Then we may consider the context etc.

Our cruising days, (14 years) were the best years of our lives, so we chose compassion and made many friends. We do not judge as it is not our job, however, on occasion we almost felt we were "contemptuous" pathetic of some persons we met along the way.

How were they "broke" ? Financially, physically, spiritually, mentally or ___?

Now that we are "physically broke", we can no longer go cruising due to age and health , but we are NOT pathetic.

Next time you sail by Pensacola, come over to Bayou Chico, anchor or I may have room at my dock and let's liberate some imprisoned spirits from those colored bottles and discuss cruising.
