The Bidet . . . What Is it and Do You Have One ?

In cleaning the bottom of a sail boat, the bidet was brought up as a joke.

Now does anyone have one on board your boat?

And the nozzle of a garden hose doesn't count. Even if we can think of the embarassing silly way of its being used as such.

Well what is it and is there one on your boat?

I think your question is wrong, if you have a bidet onboard then you don't have a boat, you have a yacht
I have a boat.

If you have a bidet, invert the pump...you're doing it wrong.

I have a bidet wand (3 actually). Wouldn't ever go back to TP(too dirty & inconsistent). Seems odd that so many are still so attached to 19th century hygiene standards?

Here is a picture of a bidet: WC - Bidets - Broyeurs Bidets Bidet PORCHER EXPRESSION Cramique

I don't even have one at home: I removed it just after buying the apartment, to make space in the bathroom.

And here is a bidet wand. Takes up less space than TP.

Bidets are very common in the middle east and variations in most other parts of the world except for North America. I was first introduced to bottom cleaners in Japan where they have some of the highest tech toilets in the world. (heated seats, built in washers etc.) The bidet wands were expected where there was no room for bidets in the public toilets of the middle east. I have them in my place in the Phillipinnes but I don't have one on the boat yet. Women like them.

I can understand the positive uses of a bidet....but when finished "cleaning" how does one dry?? It seems the use of a special towel would be counterproductive. (more laundry).

Just asking.............

Ahem, undies? Under your boardshorts??? While I've no idea of the drying time for those who cultivate a jungle of overgrowth back there, for those who keep smooth enough to stave off dingleberry infestations - a 5 second hover leaves you dry enough.

I'm almost convinced, but one question; is spraying enough or does the process require some scrubbing? If so, what does one scrub with?
