Smile The $50 Cruising Club Is Now OPEN!

At last the official launch

The 1st rule of $50CC is - there are no rules!

But there is an Ethos:-

- to share a slice of the real life Cruising experience on the basis of mutual respect -

This translates into sharing the financial cost of life aboard.

For more details visit:-

The $50CC

There are even some FAQ's

Have already acquired a few members - but early days yet on signing up Host Skippers and Guest Crew (can of course be both!), but even if not yet (ever?!) going to be either a Host Skipper or Guest Crew yourself don't be shy about signing up as a Member to show support for the idea (and make the place look busy ).

Hi David,
When you first mentioned this, I thought you were kidding.
Does membership come with a free set of steak knives.

I see you have been "manually" making the FAQ sticky at the top of the list - I haven't discovered an elegant way to do that with social groups. The description seems to be the only way to make something stay at the top of the postings list.

I guess the question is how will the social group be used?

It's your banana but I figured it was for a collection or list of boats looking for cruisers and cruisers looking for boats. To make that more useful it might require some title guidelines.

I posted my boats availability with the following title structure

"(Ride Availalble/Ride Wanted)(Location)(Dates -optional)
(Body text)"

Sample
Quote:
Ride Available - Singapore - date omitted
We have a 26 footer. Mostly do days sails + some weekender trips to Malaysia and Indonesia.

Willing to offer rides to anyone serious about sailing.

No charge - bring beer.

PM for details.
This structure makes the SG searchable by location.

If the SG becomes a chat room it will be hard to find hookups.

Just a quick up date..........

Been going now under a week - and membership already in the 20's And also with offers from Host Skippers (worldwide! ) as well as from potential Guest Crew.

Still early days yet of course, but hopeful signs
