Stainless steel anchor chain

An old gypsey and corroded galvanized anchor chain was held responsible for repeated tangles and jams, which is inconvenient when single handed anchoring a 42’ sloop.

Some posts on this site mentioned stainless steel chain and said rigging and transportation sites had better prices than marine sites. This is true.

So 125’ of 5/16” SS chain was purchased from an outfit near Tulsa. Arrived in two days. (BTW 125’ of 5/16” chain just about fills a 5 gallon bucket).

SS goes thrugh the old gypsey and down the hole easily and without any jams.

I keep a few extra feet on deck just to show off.
