Shopping for foul weather gear

I was shopping online for some Gill weather gear">foul weather gear and seen some ads from the U.K. I'm in US and the cost for the same item seem to be half the price even with euro to us conversion and shipping. I was wondering if that's norm and should I shop for more stuff overseas.

Maybe cheaper in some private or discount providers(like ebay england) but looks like if you pay for the shipping, Price maybe higher buying in Europe and US may tax you for importing. Regular price of Gill product is almost same in US and Europe.
I just miss Gill big sale by Mauri Pro Sailing which was really good deal.
