I found this photo on a foreign "for sale" website. Was wondering if anyone knew it's purpose. It almost seems like it's for grounding or running aground so the boat won't tip over..... Sure is strange looking.

If it's in England it could be to keep the boat upright while the tide is out? Or it is an alien craft landing gear?.

I've never seen such a thing but my guess is the same as yours...some sort of prop to keep it upright when the tide goes out.

The Kelt 7.6 is a Jean Berret (Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design) designed cruiser/club racer which was first built by Kelt Marine in France, and then under licence in Ontario (early 1980's). in the deep keel version, they were fairly competative club racers.
I’ve never seen such an appendage before, and expect that it’s a custom OEM bilge support for drying out, as previously suggested.
Otherwise, perhaps a PO installed a cockpit table support upside-down.
