Question about a recent Delos anchor setup

In a recent episode, the Delos crew were going diving behind this island. You can see how close they decided to place the boat to shore. The only reason I could think of to do this was due to a steep drop off requiring close placement, and then at that point, it's safer to run a second line aft to shore for control. Is that correct? Why else would they set up like this?

They tied up to a mooring there that "their buddy Craig" set up. They did keep someone onboard the whole time in case anything shifted and they started heading toward the docks so they could fire up the engines and keep the boat off the rocks. I don't think Craig was dealing with the same size boat...

Correct, it was not an anchorage, but a mooring. They did not want to anchor because they might have damaged the fragile seafloor life.
