LSI 260 & 5hp Tohatsu...

We brought a Achilles LSI 260 Air floor with a 5hp Tohatsu 2 stroke.

The 260 at 66lb (30 kg) is too heavy for me to manhandle from the water to dinghy storage. Two people could probably do OK.

At 42 lbs (19kg) the 5 hp Tohatsu is too heavy for me to carry from the street to the dinghy. Add the fuel tank and it's just too heavy for me to use regularly.

At the moment I row a 7'6" Fibreglass dinghy (20kg) when I'm by myself and a 9' Aluminium dinghy (25?kg) when my wife is with me.

The aluminium dinghy will not tow with the outboard on the back and has to go on the davits.

At the moment I'm strongly tempted to get a 2hp outboard that I can actually carry to and from the boat.

When we go cruising I'll sell the little fibreglass dinghy and maybe the tinnie. I figure the 2.6 m Achilles will be fine if we're using it all the time.
