MackPack vs Doyle StackPack

List pros/cons comparing just these two options plz.

Ok...MackPack is easily installed without altering the existing mainsail but doesn’t look as neat on the boom. D StackPack looks cleaner in profile but requires a loose footed main.

I got the Doyle StackPack installed at the factory with new Doyle Main Sail. It fits perfectly, and is Not Loose footed. It's very easy to use and robustly made. No experience with the MacPack.

Am I correct that your StackPack has sewn in slugs for the boom track and then your main sail foot is sewn to the StackPack?

the boat I had that has a doyle StackPak the main was a standard rope groove and the cover was sown to the bottom. It was just a standard sail with the cover sown to it.

malyea: One thing to consider is your access to things while reefing. You'd have to have a close look at both types of boom bags, installed on similar boats to yours.

That is correct.

I believe that Doyle now offers two types of Stackpacks: one that is sewn to the main and one that is separate from the main. Two others to consider are the North and Quantum products.
