Live aboard overwintering

We (a Dutch cruising yacht) are heading up the east coast of US to Nova Scotia, New Foundland and are looking for yards /moorings /marina where winter liveaboard and doing your own work are allowed. It seems to be the proverbial needle in a haystack. Can anybody help with info please.

Greetings and awaiting responses
