INFO NEEDED: Sailboat up the Trent-Severn Canal

Hi all. I hope I'm posting this in the correct place.

I've sailed Lake Ontario extensively and crewed in the other Great Lakes for almost 30 years. Now I'd like to get my boat to Georgian Bay and the North Channel from Lake Ontario through the Trent-Severn Canal system in 2020.

I'm looking for tips on everything from locking-through to navigation and even great places along the way. I will motor a de-masted 26-foot sailboat that draws 4 feet and a 10-foot dinghy.

The Trent-Severn waterway is 386 km long, with 45 locks, and 15 swing bridges, linking Lake Ontario to Georgian Bay in Lake Huron.

I’d recommend the Waterway Guide and it’s online Explorer. It has extensive detail on the route.

Disclosure, I work for WWG and cover this region … so you know it’s good .
