Buying a Boat in USA to Bring to Canada

Dont know if anyone can help but here's my situation. I want to buy a boat and trailer in the US and bring it back to canada (thanks for the info on importing and how easy it is). I want to register the boat in canada for summer use and then trailer it back to Florida in the fall for winter use---this is the part where I can find no info. What probles might I run into going into the states with a now Canadian registered boat---I want to take it there for 6 months --are there any time constraints for keeping my boat in the US over the winter?
Any help would be appreciated.
