You can knock a pretty good shower up with a small, submersible 12v pump, a shower head, a length of hose to connect it to the pump, and a bucket.

Fill the bucket with your ideal mix of hot and cold water, and turn the pump on. Though probably not best to do while still fully clothed, unless you want to wash your clothes at the same time (that works too, but a very big bucket is in order then).

Absent a pump and shower head, a cup for wetting and rinsing, and a big soft sponge for soapy application, works well enough.

eta: Oh almost forgot! Luxuries! Marmalade and Marmite (in good news, Walmart does both, so I can stock up). Essential basics = vast quantities of Typhoo teabags.

and to add my own 2 cents to the thread .... a house sized toilet bowl and enough room to park my big fat ass on it in comfort It's on the list (Raritan II)... but I don't yet know if it will fit in the available space (Catalina 36 MKII)

That's actually a good item. If you are currently sitting on a smaller one, it will fit the space!

I know that on my boat to keep the boss happy, one luxury I must invest in is an inverter to power a hair dryer. Thankfully she accepts that the hairdryer will not be as powerful as she has at home, so I might be able to find a lower powered one to reduce the inverter size and cost.

I mounted a 1600 watt - naturally my wife has one that is 2000 watt , although she accepts she has to use it at half power

I think my GF has 2000w also, and she never uses full heat. I don't think she will like it if it was to die because of the marine environment, so we will buy one for the boat.

The problem is probably both I have a 440ah battery bank which I think should be ok for a short session. Luckily she has short hair.

Worst case, we run the motor when drying the hair as we probably need to heat up a new batch of water after the showers.

Nah, not $high$ maintenance but yachting is totally new to her, so a comfort item like a hairdryer allows me to keep her happy to live onboard cruising which in turn allows me to sail for longer. It also allows me to anchor out rather than regularly visiting marinas for power.
