comical in the video format but I know from painfully personal experience how bad many of those folks were hurt. I swear getting on or off a boat is THE most dangerous action you can take aboard!

Ouch... There was only one accident that, imho, ended up without bruises: the guy falling overboard as he's trying to start an outboard.

Anyone can buy a boat, not everyone should! Reminds me of the Insurance company commercial on TV lately : "the boat, the boat, the boat... we're gonna put the boat in the water, we're gonna take the boat out of the water, the boat, the boat , the boat... all I hear about is the boat................... It makes me nervous!" ............... and rightfully so!!

Years ago, had a 65' Trumpy I ran for dinner charters out of Little River, SC. Standing rule for all customers-"Do not do anything unless I tell you what to do!" We tied alongside parallel to a pretty strong current. Use to run a spring line around a piling when leaving to allow the bow to swing into the current. Had a passenger who saw the bow start to swing out and the line around the piling and thought we were still tied to the dock. He did not say anything, just put on foot on the dock, one on the boat, grabbed the line and fell in as we were pulled into the current. The only thing for him to grab was a barnacle encrusted piling! Not a pretty sight.
