Anyone know/heard anything about Atoll..?
Last I heard he was in Horta, Faial in the Azores waiting on a rudder repair on a boat he was delivering to Portugal...
He's been absent on FB for yonks.. and considering some of the Threads the last few weeks.. notably absent here on CF..
Did he set of on the delivery.. anyone know anything..??

Re: Atoll

alive and well, and back in cornwall till next week, just been very busy working on a boat in spain, doing a full solar, battery, auto pilot, inverter, nav system install.
catching the ferry next week to bilbao with all the good stuff to be fitted onboard.

the delivery was all going great, got the rudder fitted after a week of delays, and unexpected repairs to the steering system,in the mean time had a low form south of the azores, bringing easterly galeforce winds, for the following 10 days, crew could only stay for another week so decided to postpone till the spring.

then flew out to barcelona where i did a full electrical refit on a 41ft meta(strongal)aluminium yacht ,and have been running around like a blue arssed fly ever since!

Re: Atoll

Jeezo boaty.... My heart jumped a little when I only saw the title "Atoll"

Happy to see that only delays, change of plans, and running around like a blue arssed fly created the absence!

yeah was a bit dissapointed,as the delivery was supposed to have happened in september,we got caught out in the first real gale of the season, with no possibility of making any headway into 35knot easterlies.

it was a pity that the crew had to be back for xmas as 2 weeks later the weather was back to moderate westerlies..ces't la vie.

a few photos, last one is the boat im refitting in spain

Re: Atoll

atoll, thanks for the pic of the dodger. Something for me to consider in my redesign. Wish I could send you some of our weather in San Diego (sorry, well, only a little bit).
