Any pre-caution from Cayman Island to Panama

Posted my question on the other forum. but not a single reply. Hoping get some feedback from here.

Here how this goes:

I have studied the pilot charts, other sources decently well plus the weather pattern in last few days. Last trip (three weeks ago) to Colon, Panama from BVI was fun and yet boring, but it was the most smooth sailing I have ever had. I think my luck might eventually runs out.

If you have the first personal experience in the trip, please share with me. I am preparing for surprise, but some early warning is always good.

We have arranged for our local crossing agent. Hopefully this will reduce the wait time from 2 weeks to 2-3 days. My wife will act as a go-between to coordinate with the agent. My hope is to cross the canal ASAP.

Not real clear what you're looking for. 3 weeks ago BVI to Colon. Now CI to the canal? Are you delivering boats, or just been crewing?

I've lived on Grand Cayman for almost six years. Headed to Panama. By way of Jamaica, Providencia, San Andres and several little Cayes on the way Eventually through the canal, but that's likely to be several months from now. After some time in the San Blas and Cartegena.

Pretty much...no hurries...no worries...

Would be helpful for you to be a little more specific on what you're looking for.

Weather? Routing? Bail out options?

I've been researching passage form here to Bocas for months. Would be happy to share, but need to know what info you need.

Sorry gentlemen, here are some more info

I am crewing for the owner on the leg from Cayman to Colon. It will be a rhumb line approach if possible. Looking for route, weather and plan B and C options if things go wild.

The boat is mariner 40, completely refitted with all safety gears.

There were about about 7-9 boats out on the public moorings in George Town when we came through town tonight. Happy to help, but...

Caribbean? 3 days should be realistic. 6 days would start to test the patience of a Saint...

9 days is about when you might realistically start to think something productive might start to happen.

I had a bunch of stuff shipped that's been on island in a container since last Wednesday night. Got a call from the broker on Tuesday with a query from customs.

Wednesday was a "Holiday" here for elections...Monday was another "holiday"...Discovery Day...

So customs pretty much had the week off...

I'm hoping against hope to get it tomorrow...Friday. And can work on getting stuff installed soon. Really don"t want to have to go to immigration for an extension...
