Thinking of going if I can find a hotel room, flights seem cheap from MN. Any advice on areas to stay and local transport.

Right now the plan is Wed to Sat. Of that will depend on the doctor and the business. If the doc doesn't clear me to travel my plans are moot. Even so, leaving the business in the hands of my managers is going to be difficult.

But if I am there, would love to meet up.

If people are flying in, Baltimore isn't far from Annapolis (30 min +/- drive) and flights to BWI are often cheaper than the other two airport options.

Hello all,
I will be going to the show on Sunday, with a huge list of boats to see, around 20 or more if I can get to them. I have never been sailing but it has become something of my dream to make it happen. I know I am a long way off from being able to realize this dream but I am really looking forward to the show.
If anyone has any advice then please share because I want to make the most of the day while I am there. Looking forward to some good weather hopefully and I am getting very excited.

Did you try residence inn? Check to see if it's cheaper to book for a week even if you're only staying a couple of days.

I hate to say it, but if you don't know how to sail you really don't know what you're looking at. I'll give you some examples.

I sailed as a kid. Tom had not. So, I was looking at monohalls and so was he. One year we discovered catamarans and decided it was time to take lessons together. We discovered pretty quickly that he didn't like to heel. After that, we focused on catamarans. If we hadn't taken the lessons, we would have ended up buying a boat that he would have hated.

We know couples who love the larger newer catamarans, but really hadn't sailed we they bought one of the new productions boats and went off-shore with it, they ended up having to run jacklines (lines to hold on to) through the salon in order to get around the salon. There were no handholds.

If you're just going to look at boats (like we did for 8 years) have fun and look at everything. We hope to see you there.
