Cruising to Cuba

Could someone knowledgeable in the topic summarize insurane, paperwork, ports, marinas, money, and the rest for cruising in a recreational boat to Cuba? From our location (Carrabelle Florida, at the panhandle end of the ICW) the only short offshores route to the Carribean is Key West and then bouncing along the north shore of Cuba. This is a well discussed topic, but the situation keeps changing, so I am hoping that someone can share pertinent information for a cruise starting in January.
