Canouan Naked Swimming Thief... Caught?
It seems like the Canouan Naked Swimming Thief may have finally been caught (and dealt some local justice)?

Re: Canouan Naked Swimming Thief... Caught?
Why does everything have to be a video? Can't anyone type any more?
Too bad, it might have been an interesting read.

Now there is an open position for the next thief to take over, someday.
OR maybe the same one.

Do I need to type a transcript of what was said in the video?
The video is the first hand account by someone who was there and who was an eyewitness to the events.

Re: Canouan Naked Swimming Thief... Caught?
No, you shouldn't have to transcribe it. It should never have been a video in the first place. It should have been written up in three paragraphs or so, rather than put into a long, boring, self-indulgent video.
(Which is kind of a redundant description, since 99% of the videos on the internet are long, boring, and self-indulgent.)

On this we shall have to agree to disagree.
In any case, within 3 posts the thread is way off topic already.
This matter has been of great concern to visiting cruisers down island, so let's focus on that instead please.

Not everyone cruising has the internet bandwidth to be able to watch videos.

Not everyone has the TIME to watch long, rambling videos which often take forever to get to the point.
This thing called "a life" keeps interfering...

Re: Canouan Naked Swimming Thief... Caught?
This is understandable. But nobody is forcing you. Simply please don't watch video content (it doesn't autoplay), but also don't lose time and your internet data and bandwidth derailing the thread with these off topic replies please.
Mods, please check and clean up these comments.

Re: Canouan Naked Swimming Thief... Caught?
Our first morning alone several years ago after leaving the Baja Haha fleet I heard a noise like a splash. Neither of our dogs or watch cat had reacted, but I went on deck and saw a 20's something Mexican fellow swimming by. We were about 150 yards out. We spoke and I invited him aboard. He put his dive mask, identical to my wife's mask, on the cabin top as he came into the cockpit. We talked for at least a 1/2 hour and it turned out he was in the same industry I had been in at the end of my career, so we had a lot in common. He gave me his email address and wanted me to keep him apprised of our cruising progress, something he often dreamed of he said. As he left I said " hey you forgot your mask" and he replied " Oh, that's not mine".

How can we? The post has no content, just a provocative title. I don’t consider video to be forum suitable content and don’t ever watch it.
If the OP doesn’t respect us enough to actually compose and type out his/her thoughts why should we bother?

Re: Canouan Naked Swimming Thief... Caught?
We happened to be on the receiving end of one of this chap's (maybe there's more than one) long distance swim. Everything was locked and we woke up while he was trying to force the door open. Anyway, long story short, we identified him. Our report is one CSSN.
He's been involved in many thefts, in jail and then out and carrying on. His fingers have been cut by an irate local before that he tried to steal from and it has not stopped him. Obviously local business has suffered and they're trying to fix it but this has been going on and off for years. And he's a damn good swimmer.
