Can you hike from the Baths to Copper Mine Point?

Be there in 2 weeks! Have never visited the Copper Mine and would like to. Is it walkable from the top of the Baths? If not will there be taxis available at the Baths? What is a reasonable fare? Or if we get a taxi in Spanish Town what would it cost?

This must be Spanish Town on Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands. I don't know the answer, but I wanted to ID the location for others.

We spend a couple nights in Leverick where you can rent a car for a whole lot less than taxi’s. If you were inclined to do the same you could drive up and over the peak where the views are beautiful and go where ever you wanted.

IF, you go to the Baths go first light because that place turns into a zoo after about 10:00.

Uhm, they have these things called "tele-phones" there in dem dere British Virgin Islands. Taxi companies have phones, too. Really. Many folks taxi TO The Baths, and there's at least one restaurant up at the top, so yes, taxis do go there and would very much like to return to Spanish Town with a fare. It's less than two miles from ST to The Baths. How much could that possibly cost?

I agree on the rental from Leverick Bay. We did that and had a wonderful time, the views are really stunning. And the rental cars are cheap.

Re: Can you hike from the Baths to Copper Mine Point?

Walking from the Baths you would return almost to marina at Spanish Town before taking the road to the Coppermine restaurant and then further to the end of the road and the old copper mine. Walking this is going to take a long time, and most of the stretch has no sidewalks (there are a couple of hundred yards in town with a sidewalk, the rest doesn't) and while there's little traffic what you do see running the roads will make you nervous. So instead of a 2 hour walk, go for a 10 minute car ride. I would also recommend getting a rental car since that will let you explore much of the island, ranging from the Baths to Leverick and you can also stop by some beaches (i.e. Savannah) which you wouldn't get to otherwise. I've always used Speedy's and have never been disappointed.

I'm not sure if LeaseOnLife has walked this before; although the path on Google Maps he shows is the shortest route it goes up and down a lot. I am a quick hiker and the walk from the top of the baths to Spanish Town alone is over 30 minutes. If you do that walk quickly in the midday heat you will need a good liter of water. The Coppermine road also goes up and down short, but steep hills.

Re: Can you hike from the Baths to Copper Mine Point?

Leverick and a rental is a great way to do it. Although you could rent a car at Spanish Town as well.

Last trip, we spent two nights at Leverick. Rental car is good for 24 hours, so we picked up at 5pm our arrival evening and brought it back 5pm the next day. So we went to Coco Maya for dinner first night, breakfast at the baths the next morning. Tour of Coppermine point, stopped at Spanish Town and a late lunch at Hog Heaven. Car rental was under $100.

We happened to arrive on a Thursday, so we ended the day at Leverick's Friday night BBQ which is also awesome.
