Anchorage near Miami and Fort Lauderdale

I'm looking for a anchorage near Fort Lauderdale or Miami where we don't have no limit time to stay there.

It can get pretty crowded but just off of Belle Isle is quite convenient.

You will see derelict boats that look like they have been there many many many years.

And let's not forget the charming, welcoming Sunset Lake:

Re: Anchorage near Miami and Fort Lauderdale

Technically, there are no limits in any of the anchorages around Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. Miami has pretty much stopped hassling boaters about anchoring. But many of the anchorages have little to no shore access so you would be sitting on the boat. If your looking for a place to park the boat and leave it, you may find your not going to be welcome in lots of places. Besides Belle Isle, there are anchoring spots behind Fisher Island, Miami Stadium and many spots around Biscayne Bay. Chuck

Re: Anchorage near Miami and Fort Lauderdale

Thanks for the link Cormorant. Loved reading it.

It could never make it in there with my boat, but I have dingied there a few times. I usually stay at the Marina right on the canal a little up from there when I am in Miami Beach.

Log onto (click on) Active Captain and you can find and get reviews of all of the anchorages in the area. You will have to register but the account is free and the information is excellant.

FWIW...
