Abacos to Grand Bahama to Bimini?

I'm cruising from Marsh Harbour north - Green Turtle / Manjack / Spanish Cay and then we don't know what we are going to do. Looking up places online and on the Gramin Active Captain iPad app. Can you give me some ideas?

Should we go underneath Grand Bahama or on top? Places to explore?

Leaving Marsh on the 12th and need to be in Bimini by the 19th.

Thanks all!

Why Bimini? You're going the wrong way if you head north from Marsh Harbour. If you really have to go to Bimini head south from Marsh Harbour, do the Berrys and then head across the bank to Bimini.

Re: Abacos to Grand Bahama to Bimini?

We sailed up from Key Largo (home port) and checked in at Great Harbour and then went to Great Harbour Bight (which was just beautiful) then anchored at Lynard Cay the next day and then up to Treasure Cay to pick up some friends and cruised around the area (south of whale) for four days (Nippers and all of those must stop once deals). We are back in Key Largo and flying to Marsh on Tuesday. We have another friend from Key Largo who wanted to do two days of sailing and then cross the gulfstream with us. His easiest / most geographically correct place to pick him up is Bimini.

We can go any route we want from Marsh to Bimini - just want to do some exploring on the way down.

The Berry's. Don't miss Flo's (Little Harbour).

I also suggest the Berrys and White Cay/Devils Cay area + Flos! Very scenic. Then around Chub and across the bank to Cat Cay.

I think returning south, the way you came would be the most practical option, but it all depends on what you wish to see.

Heading north would allow you to do some exploring in the lesser traveled northern Abacos as well as make a stop at Freeporot/Lycaya on Grand Bahama if that interests you. It would let you see some places you haven't seen yet.

You'll certainly want to consider the weather if traveling along the west edge of the Bahamas.
