Looking for Dry Storage Location in South Italy

Hello all,
I am planning to sail to the South of Italy and Sicily this season.
Does anyone have knowledge of a port in the area where I could lay-up the boat in DRY STORAGE during next winter, while I return home until spring? Plus an idea of haul out/in and storage cost ... would be great!
Preferably located in South Italy or Sicily, but if no other choice, South Sardinia will do as well.
Thanks for your help!

Try Boat Service Trapani in Trapani on Sicilies north western corner.

Boat Service Trapani s.r.l.

Trapani also has an airport, for example Ryanait flies from there.

Marinas in cagliari will provide dry storage and it's a lovely town.

Marina del Sole in Cagliari is reasonably priced for 12 month contract in the water and on shore. We left our Dufour 45 on the hard there a few winters ago. Good meals at the Sport Club nearby, easy walk into town. Bus to international airport.

Re: Looking for Dry Storage Location in South Italy

Thanks to all for your feedback.

Aren't there any other locations in Sicily or South Italy?

We are planning to visit the Eolian Islands, and then on to Greece next year. Hence wintering in Sardinia would have us going back too much.
Of course, we could defer Sicily and the Eolians until next year and leave the boat in Sardinia this winter ... We'll see.

Thanks again for your help.

There is a good place to leave your boat on the east side Italy, at Sibari in the Gulf of Taranto. Friends left their boat at this place a number of years ago. It's a bit isolated but for leaving a boat over the winter it worked fine for them. It is then an easy hop over to Corfu in Greece.

Sibari, Italy and Manoel Island, Malta.
Thanks! I just sent them a mail.
Their website doesn't say anything about dry storage, but from the pictures it looks like there area few yachts parked on land.

Sibari is a good place, as far as I know one of the cheapest in Italy, people are friendly and it is safe, competent service.

Disadvantages:
- 6km away from the next shopping, however a marina bus goes there twice a week
- the biggest problem is that the entrace gets sanded every year and it is always uncertain when it is digged, from beginning of March until end of May evrything is possible
- the sand bank in front of the entrace changes every year, it is always at another position, so before sailing in one has to have VHF contact with the harbour and receive exact advices.

Yes, I did send them a mail and they gave me a quotation.
I put them on my list, for consideration if I end the sailing season in their area.
But the sanding of the entrance is a bit worrying ... I red about it in another blog as well.
Thanks for your input!
I am now also looking at places in Sicily.

Not at all if you contact by VHF, they give you good assistance by sending out a pilot boat for first time entrance.

So, the passage is never completely sanded? It's just the location that moves around?
My boat's draught is 1,9m.

Re: Looking for Dry Storage Location in South Italy

While you are looking for a place in the Med we are looking for places to leave our Dufour 45 on the hard somewhere in Belgium from Sept 2012 to April 2013. Any ideas on a safe place that is not expensive?
