Charleston SC Suggestions?

We will be in Charleston, SC for a few days the first week of December (without our boat) and wonder if anyone has suggestions about lodging and/or things to do.
Thanks,

You will like it. First the Battery, park and walk, take tour time. The downtime market is also good. Lots of good food options at medium to high price. Lots of history to see. If you want to take a drive for the day I suggest South down Edisto Island. We had our boat in Charleston about 5 years. It is our favorite city.

Second Blind Tiger for drinks. If you want a fun on the water/Marina watering hole Salty Mikes is cool. Basil Thai restaurant on King is really good. There are lots of great hotels in downtown Charleston so it really just depends on your budget. I recommend staying in a place that is in walking distance of the market as there will be lots of bars and restaurants within that area.

Try the Ansonborough Inn. Close to downtown and very cool.
