Wind Generators on Canoe Sterns

Looks like I am about to make a deal on a Westsail 28.

I wanna see some pics of wind generators on canoe sterns to get some ideas on how to mount one with out affecting the clean lines too much.

Thinking a radar on the back stay, solar on the stern pulpit, and a wind gen on a pole on the stern.

Solar has to be on top, otherwise don't bother.
We see stuff like that all the time!

We started out with four 53 watt panels with a wind generator above.
The WG worked, but we LOST more electricity to the shading from it than we gained from it when the wind blew.
We finally chopped it off and got MORE electricity.
Next, we added four more panels and had all the power we could possibly use with refrigeration, watermaker, radar, HAM, electric windlass etc etc.

The radar mounted above the panels would be a similar impediment.
Whether or not solar or wind would be better for you depends on where you are going to sail.
BTW, the above was on our Lord Nelson 35 cruised in Mexico.

My boat has a place on the stern arch for a wind gen. I had one on my last boat and it was a waste of money so I won't be repeating that mistake. It only produced notable amperage over 20kts which isn't enough of the time around here. I plan to cut that part of the arch off to make room for another solar panel.
Sorry but I don't have any pictures here that show that part of the boat very well.

Thanks for the advice.

At the Miami Boat Show I was looking into the flexible solar panels to mount on the dodger, but the cost is high, power output low.

Gonna have a good size fridge, auto pilot, GPS-plotter, LED lights and other goodies, thinking around 300 ah a day.

Gonna be living in a South Florida mooring field for a few years before my cruise. Plenty of sun, usually plenty of wind.

Go with hard Solar panels.
The new ones put out lots of power.

Refrigeration is the big user.
Make it as efficient as possible.
300 aH/day is a lot !
We balanced our boat's use (before LED lighting was available) with solar at about 100 aH/day.
