Victron Cerbo GX install

Purchased a new CERBO GX online, but the documentation for connecting it is somewhat confusing. It seems to me that everything has to come to the unit and then be distributed outward. Does anyone understand whether the shunt cable needs to come to the Cerbo, and then over to the BMV 712? It seems like the other connections are reasonably straightforward except for that one. My boat has a Victron Multiplus Compact 12/2000/80 unit, the Victron Digital Multicontrol, Victron MPPT 100/50 for Solar, and the Victron BMV 712 display.

The shunt will connect directly to the BMV. Then the BMV to the Cerbo. The multiplus, multi control and Cerbo get connected in a daisy chain. MPPT goes directly to the Cerbo as well.

The shunt and bvm are a phone jack direct connect. Comes in box (30’?)

Ve direct cable from bvm to cerbo. Need to buy cable

Ethernet cable (ve bus) from inverter to cerbo. Need to buy cable.

Mppt ve direct cable to cerbo. Need to buy cable.

I would ditch the existing controller and buy the touch screen for the cerbo. Which plugs right in. (Short cable. Cerbo must be near screen)

All correct. Though I just use my phone and the Victron website rather than a local screen - one less thing to cut a hole for

and here is the stupid thing... the alert speaker is in the cerbo tucked away and its barely audible. Not in the screen that sits out and is visible.

Thanks; I did buy the GX touchscreen as well. Perfect instructions...will make it happen. I’ll write if I have any questions.
