Replacement cable for Victron battery monitor

Seems I've lost the data cable for my Victron battery monitor during an extended overhaul. Since the cable was way too long anyway, a shorter replacement would be fine.

I bought a cable on eBay, and though it plugs in fine (RG12), the display doesn't fire up.

Anybody know the spec for a Victron cable? The one I bought was a "6p6c reverse".

Sorry can't help but I've had pretty good luck contacting Victron directly for tech support. If you can't find the info I can pull my cable and test it to see if its straight through or not.

I also tried to use my old (flat telephone?) cable that was ran for my old link 2000. Didn't work so had to run the new Victron cable. Must be wired different. Good thing I didn't blow it up!

Al you need to do is look at the color code at both ends. Could be straight or crossed

Re: Replacement cable for Victron battery monitor

I went ahead and ordered a straight cable (they're cheap). Are there any other cable variations I need to be aware of?

I'll call Victron also, particularly if this one doesn't work.

For anyone who might stumble across this thread in the future, a RG12, 6P6C. straight cable is what you need.

Re: Replacement cable for Victron battery monitor

Thanks Rusty.

Do you or anyone know if it's the same for the new 700 series? I have a new (uninstalled) monitor and was too cheap (out of money) to buy the victron cable.

Thanks in advance...

Can't help you there, but you can buy a cable on eBay for about $2.

If this one does not work let me know. I think I have a spare on the boat...

Thanks for the kind offer -- the straight cable worked just fine.
