There is room for a switch on the opposite side to the shunt. There may even be room for a small regulator. Note I have go a very large regulator so I may need help from other forum members.

Gives "plug-in & play" an all new meaning!

What kind of resistance would there be using that model?

I assume she's wired for DC and properly oriented.

Not a lot once you know the 'turn on'

You would have to move your body so the cells were in and out of shadow. Mechanical PWM.
Anything else is unlikely to achieve a satisfactory result.
