cabinet lighting- momentary off, push button switches

What are folks using for switches for cabinet lighting, so that when you open the cabinet or locker door, the light comes on automatically? Mounting options?

What about the oft overlooked magnetic reed switch? A small magnet
Mounted on the door, the reed on the cabinet. Probably not a good idea anywhere near the compass.
