I've got a Kohler 8KW (8eoz) diesel generator
on my boat that decided to start putting out 168 volts instead of 120v. Had issues with appliances
dying and a GFI outlet toasting and ID'd the problem as the generator
output. Now what? My guess is that it could be a voltage regulator
gone bad. Any generator gurus out there have an idea where to start, other than calling my local Kohler service
outfit (which has a 2-3 week backlog)? The Admiral doesn't like sleeping in an un-air-conditioned boat when it's 95 degrees at night....
