No games just a random thought from a brain that loves to over think things sometimes.
But also I was referring to 6 volt batteries in series then taping off what you needed for different applications though you could do the same with 12 volt batts if you needed to.

Think I'll back out now so as not to confuse this thread any further I think some of it evaporated already anyhow.

Absolutely right, and it works both ways. For instance, I have to be able to reconfigure my house bank to produce 24 volts if the engine bank dies. So if I go with 6 volt cells, I need at least 4.

The need to be able to build 24 volts from the house bank ruled out some options on the REALLY big 2 volt cells that I was considering early on.
