SD50 replacing flexible mounting foot

Hi all,

Has anyone replaced the flexible rubber mounting foot of their SD50? Mine is pretty rusted and just recently heard a story of one breaking on a L500, with the saildrive unit then cracking through the hull and flooding the engine bay - which prompted me to check mine!

Service manual indicates replacement every 5 years/2000 hours, so I am due to replace.

Does it have to be done on the hard or can it be done in the water?

Also - would the mounting foot for SD50 be same as for SD20/40? The parts manual I am using indicates part no is 796420-08630. But when emailing Yanmar dealers to inquire about replacement parts they indicate that part no 196420-02310 is an acceptable replacement - but googling it indicates it's for a SD20.

Thanks.
