Front opening windows paint delaminating L400

I have noticed both my front opening windows have some minor paint delaminating on the bottom part of the window, (Lagoon 400) has any one removed these windows for repainting? it looks like the window frame is a split construction which raps around around a seal which in turn holds the glass in place, so in theory I only need to dismantle the parts have the frame treated then paint it, however is the seal glued to the window frame? if it is damaging the seal is likely in the dismantling process, if the seal becomes unusable I will be in trouble. So if any one has has attempted this I'd very much like to hear their experience. Thanks in advance.
