Re: St Thomas-Miami-Late Next Week

48' Leopard Cat,Owners Version,8 person life raft, standard life safety equipment, + 2nd Simrad GPS and Chart Plotter,Radar and AIS, 2-automatic fire extinguishers and auto shut down controller, "SPOT" satellite tracker, and rental sat phone, 12' AB inflatable Dingy W/Mercury Outboard, extra water and diesel tank,

Sailed without the extra equipment I installed from Cape Town, South Africa to Fort Lauderdale,Fl.

Route depending on weather is:
Inside Passage-w to great inauga, nw thru bahama ship channel, pick up stream to stiltsville channel 80w25n+/- to Biscayne Bay
or
Outside Passage-nw to hole in the wall(abaci's), se thru nw providence channel to great is sac light,se to stiltsville channel
If you're still looking for crew, I'd be interested in finding out more about your boat and the proposed trip.

Capt has New Zealand boat master, european ICC certificate, 12 years experience, carribean mediterranean, and new zealand. Other crew member has made Miami to Virgin passage at least 5 times.

Minimum crew for trip is 3 possibly 4 or 5. Passage is usually on one or two tacks at most and boat is on autopilot most of time. Crew main responsibility is to be on watch 3 hours each evening during passage.

Inside passage has traffic and you must be alert monitoring AIS and Radar. Outside passage has little traffic and much more relaxed

Boat is equipped with stowaway boom and during jib. All reefed and controlled from Helm

Planning on leaving on next Sat or Sun, depending on crew.

Thanks for replying

Ed

If this was heading the other way I would be all over this one, keep me in mind for future sails!

Re: St Thomas-Miami-Late Next Week

I don't think you are offering the flight to the boat as well but if you are I would be there this weekend!

And would also be open to extending in south Florida if wanted!

Always wanted to get on a larger cat!

Re: St Thomas-Miami-Late Next Week

I think I have enough crew, but if I don't I will contact you later today.
Where are you located?
Could you be in St Thomas by Saturday?
Do you have a sailing resume/experience?
My email is edwardlondon@gmail.com

Thanks

Ed
