CRUISING THAILAND

I am looking for 1 or 2 crew to cruise around the andaman sea. The yacht is a Wharram Tiki. I am very familiar with the waters here.
Also underwater since I am a diving instructor as well.
No sailing experience nescesarry, I can show you everything you need to.
I use to sail single handed.
If you are easy going and enthusiastic, ready for adventures, then contact me.
Contribution for food and fuel expected.

Re: CRUISING THAILAND

Although this opens up a thread for all the armchair lawyers and other psuedo human rights activites I understand where your coming from. It sounds to me that you are offering the use of your home in exchange for company but you dont want to pay for other peoples expenses. Reasonable on the surface if you are only day or local sailing but expect major flack from people pointing out liabilty and legal issues.

Re: CRUISING THAILAND

Hi Jubilee39,

you understood right that I look for people to join my sailing adventures. And that I am willing to show people how to sail if they never did before.

But I did not ask you for legal advise. I don't have to because I know what I am doing.

Cheers

Re: CRUISING THAILAND

I would love to come. I have been to Thailand 12 times including 1 yacht charter and a bareboat sailing course. I just got back from krabi, phi phi and koh Lanta. I have been to most of the islands and many places inland.

I work in mining so while at my current job I work 26 days on, and have 9 days off. I can extend a few days if I have good notice.

My next break from work is 26 April. After that the rainy season begins, but I have no problems going during that time.

I am more than happy to pay my share.

CRUISING THAILAND

Good luck sail and dive. We've had quite a few guests on board as well that have shared costs and as far as I know there's nothing wrong with doing that. I'm not sure why people jump on posts like yours and start bad mouthing. Jealous of people out there actually sailing perhaps.
Either way it sounds like a great opportunity for someone to learn and share the experience that they otherwise can only dream about.

Hey sail and drive,
I don't get what all the flack is about. You are offering a chance for someone to sail and share an adventure. Life isn't a free ride. Is the crew member supposed to get a free vacation? Why does everything need to involve lawyers?? Wish I could come. Have a great time!!

Thanks sail and dive. I will contact you so we can Skype. I work nightshift so need to plan a time in advance..

I don't understand all the negative comments around here. I myself am planning on buying a lagoon 400 in the next year or so to do some extensive sailing starting in South East Asia. I will be running solo, except for the occasional friend so will have plenty of room for people to join me at that time.

Sharing costs seems reasonable to me.

Re: CRUISING THAILAND

Was this harassment necessary! ? The fella is offering a place on his boat. All he's asking for is to share the cost of food and daily expenses. It's a good deal! Many can't or don't want to afford a boat to sail like this and having the opertunity to get on board someone else's boat is a great idea! It's been going on for years and these legalistic goofs are not going to stop it now. Where is the forum administrators? This guy should not have been harassed like this.

Re: CRUISING THAILAND

Hei,

This sounds really exciting. I`ve been thinking about purchasing a sailboat lately, and I want to learn sailing and see what it`s all about. I have been to Thailand 3 times before and I love it, to cruise around in the andaman sea sound like a adventure worth participating.

If you are still looking for crew please send me a mail and tell me about you`re plans. My e-mail address is torstein_u@hotmail.com
