Re: Crew wanted for a short voyage in French Caribbean

Hi im Leo van Eeden a 21year old White South African Male looking to join crew and sail the world.
Im very enthusiastic and hard working (always wanting to learn and develop stronger skills and knowledge, was looking to get a delivery from SA to a destination where I could find a Crew there but havnt found anything.
If you would consider me for a position on your Catamaran I would organise flight tickets to meet up with you and start my new venture.
I have: (All RYA approved) Day Skippper Tidal,Day skipper for sail and powercraft ,Competent Crew and STCW2.
I look forward to hearing from you and maybe get to join you on your adventures.

Re: Crew wanted for a short voyage in French Caribbean

Hello Leo,
If my proposal matches your wishes, you are welcome. I emphasize that I look for an unpaid sailing companion, we share food and extras if decided together, the boat, mooring and fuel expenses are at my charge. It will be short be hopefully enjoyable.
If you can join at Le Marin (Martinique), we can leave on october 16th, final destination Guadeloupe october 20th.
Let me know if this is possible for you, sincerely.

Re: Crew wanted for a short voyage in French Caribbean

Dear holmek,
I love sailing because I love freedom. Free of preferring sailing two or more than alone ; free to sail with stops in these paradises like Dominique or Les Saintes rather than cruising on a straight line in 20 hours ; free to be careful and keep security time on a 48' cat which was just completely refitted and which can encounter failures of all kinds ; free to wait in some shelter if the wheather is hazardous...
Just like you are free to run in a minimal time from departure point to arrival point if this is your plan and your pleasure - it could be mine another time !
Fair winds to you !

Hi, my wife Cindy and I are interested in joining you. I am a 53-year-old electrician and Cindy is a 54-year-old university registrar. We have both completed American Sailing Association courses: ASA101 Basic Keelboat, ASA103 Basic Coastal Cruising, ASA104 Bareboat Cruising and ASA114 Cruising Catamaran. We are currently attending ASA105 Coastal Navigation with Northern Breezes Sailing School in Afton, Minnesota. We are full-time members of Northern Breezes Sailing Club and go sailing 1 to 3 times per week. We are interested in expanding our sailing experiences and fun in the sun.

Hello Mike & Cindy,
Thank you for your message. I am sorry for you but I already caught a crew earlier today.
I keep your details for further opportunities.
This is an annoucement : this topic is closed. Many thanks for the kind messages I got from other sailors.

Re: Crew wanted for a short voyage in French Caribbean

A physically, fit enthusiastic, British male wanting to learn more about the boating world and gain experience in sailing. Last may i crewed a 40 ft sailing yacht, hoping to sail from Bordeaux to Turkey, but complications including crew and weather conditions cut the trip out short. I'm hoping to become an officer in the Royal Marines, in which a high level of fitness, strength and teamwork are crucial, as I know are also within a sailing environment. I would consider myself a fast learner and have a skill of being able to blend into any environment quickly. I'm very easy to get along with and would ensure a happy and friendly crew mate, work hard, play harder!(in some cases). My enthusiasm and a passion for learning and gaining new experiences makes me an ideal candidate to be part of your crew, if your willing to teach me you can ensure a reliable future crew member, on call!
