No thank you to both the SEA222 and M700. I want an SSB but I also would like the option of using Sailmail in the future, and from what I've read off their site those two would be very difficult or just impossible to do that.

Might want to look at Ham radio. An Icom 718 will do salmail and sells new for less than a used Icom SSB and even cheaper used. Does everything a marine SSB will do short of the Icom 802. Might want to check whether the Icom M700 can handle the sustained output required by a Pactor Modem. Somehow thought it did.
