Internet & Satellite Phone System

I just bought a boat that has the Thrane & Thrane Sailor 250 Fleet Broadband System installed. I don't have a need for it so it's up for sale.

This is a high speed system! For example a 1 MB file is a 90 minute transmit time with a typical satellite phone, but only 2 minutes with this gear!

For sale for $3,000. This gear is worth $7,700 new (see Cobham Sailor 250 FleetBroadband Marine Satellite Terminal | NorthernAxcess). The unit ID plate has the manufacture date as 2011/12, The previous owner did the ARC 2011, 2012, and 2013 and I understood he bought it for that purpose.

It's still installed on my boat on the east coast, I'll dismount it for the buyer. You are also welcome to come and look it over at an agreed time. It includes the original Installation Manual, User Manual (Fleet Broadband), User Manual (Thrane IP Handset), and Quick Guide (IP Handset, Wired).

The system specifications are:

Re: Internet & Satellite Phone System

I have some interest in your sat/phone system. What size is the boat it's on now, I'm trying to relate it to my installation!

It's on an Amel Super Maramu, 53' in overall length. It doesn't take very much room, so it's hard for me to imagine it wouldn't fit somewhere. There is the antenna, which is mounted on a stainless steel pole of the stern, the "base unit" and the handset. The handset is the only thing that needs to be handy. The "base unit" is 14.5" x 10.5" x 1.75" should be easily mounted in a locker or to the underside of the navigation table.
