Re: Survey complete: Now the questions

Thank you to all who contributed on this thread to clear things up for me. I have a Lipari 41 as well and didn't realize that she was just a tad under 12m. I have installed a portable/removable white stern light to use on the stern area of the coach roof instead of using the white mooring light at the top of the mast for steaming. So now I have two options to use while steaming.

Re: Survey complete: Now the questions

It looks like we are moving froward with the purchase. Only a few items that need attention.

One thing that was detected during the survey was that the starboard engine room bilge pump is mounted higher than the float switch. For some reason the float switch is mounted between the rudder stock and the muffler for the generator and the pump is inboard of that and higher by about 5 to 6 inches. I am uncertain, but will assume that this was installed this way at the factory since bilge pumps are standard items and everything in this space is original equipment.

So what?? Bilge pump is really just a very very very minor issue. Its a $50 issue on a 300k purchase. So what are you waiting for?
Honestly if that is what keeps you from buying maybe I should jump in?

Whoever indicated that it was a show stopper? Not I, that is for sure. I just found it curious that someone would actually position the pump and the switch in that manner and was kind of hoping that other Lipari owners would comment on the location of their pumps. That is all.

Not sure why the generator muffler would be there. The factory generator muffler used to be installed towards the stern near the engine muffler. Probably a third party install. The bilge pump and float switch is usually installed in the same position on each side at the lowest point against the bulkhead held in with cable ties

Re: Survey complete: Now the questions

Deal done. We close on Tuesday. We are so looking forward to setting the boat up to meet our needs. I appreciate all of the feedback from other Lipari owners and I hope that we can call upon you for insight and advice as we move forward. Thanks again!

Re: Survey complete: Now the questions

My current boat was bought in Canada. I've been inspected by the USCG and brought up the issue. As long as you have required US equipment that may differ from Canadian requirements, they don't care about life jackets, etc., as long as the items are in good condition and working.

Is this the 2014/2015 that was in Kemah? We looked at that boat - looked like a great boat. Did FP replace the engines?

Yes, the engines have about 10 hours on them now.
