Zoom Chart Centered at Cursor Position

It's probably somewhere in the forum archives, but I can't find this:
When the "+" key is pressed the chart zooms in, using the center of the screen as a base point. Is it possible to have the zoom center point be the cursor location instead? That way one can put the cursor on any point on the screen, hit "+", and zoom into that point.
Thanks!

Theres an option to zoom in at cursor by spinning mousewheel in the options.

I would however concur that this should be default for the keyboard action also.

Zoom to cursor / mouse scrollwheel

The zoom on scrollwheel function has a rather unpleasant bug under Linux.

At the moment, the function seems to zoom and also re-centre the cursor position, but this only works for single zoom steps.

If you zoom a single step of the scrollwheel, it works fine.

If you zoom more than one step, and the cursor is not centred on the screen when you start the zoom then you end up with the cursor centred and the chart zoomed in to an incorrect position (the zoom centre being used must be incorrect for the zoom actions which are queued up after the first one).

So you probably lose the place you were zooming in to...

If zooming using the scrollwheel, I think the cursor position should be maintained, and the zoom should be centred at that position. No cursor centre action should occur!

Regards,

Mike

I use my Toughbook on the galley counter. It's just within reach without leaving the cockpit. Using th scroll function on a laptop touchpad while sailing is a 'touchy' business, so I rely mostly on the keyboard.

The way I'm zooming now is to move the cursor where I want to center the map, tap the touchpad to center the map, then hit the "+" key to zoom into that location. I guess it's just a matter of learning new habits.

Ive noted that, it's probably a bug concerning the zoom wheel action queue, which could be fixed by changing the logic.. Perhaps best register a bug at flyspray?
