Print user's manual

Just discovered OpenCPN from Practical Sailor's article. I have a heck of a time going back and forth from users manual to chart and thus would like to print out the manual.

How can I add page numbers to the user's manual for printing?

Using Mac OS X 10.7.5. HP Photosmart 7520. Printing direct doesn't allow adding page #s. Copy to Pages and the images don't copy. Same with Text Wrangler. Converting it to PDF using Adobe Reader doesn't allow page numbers. That's all I have for printing.

Any suggestions?

The user's manual is a hmtl page and it opens with any browser.

I use Firefox with my Mac and tell Firefox to print this page (menu File/Print).
In the print requester you will see a PDF box. When you hit this box you will have several choices. Try the PDF preview and you will have pretty page numbers too.

Thanks, Gerhard, that solved it. Firefox and Safari are the only browsers I have. When I started with Firfox there were occasional pages that wouldn't work so I switched back to Safari. (several years ago.) Obviously there are advantages to Firefox too. I guess I should use it more.

I've got a GPS puck on order and will be trying out the OpenCPN soon. I've not used computer based nav programs before; for sure I'll be back with questions.
