Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1624

This is probably older, but I've just noticed it. If measuring (right click - Measure...) the hovering distance and bearing text is not i18nzed, it is always in English.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1624

Dave..

v. 2.6.1624 still working normally with the Siitech network connected.
The alarm from the lightship in Shanghai has ceased, perhaps this was the cause?
No matter how hard I try I cannot abort Opencpn.

Dave..

Yes,I definitely think it´s caused by these emergency messages.
My OpenCPN just aborted after receiving yet another such message.

I have no problem receiving a SART emergency.
Tore, what happens if you play the attached file, with the VDR plugin?

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1624

Thomas..

I can only find source code for the VDR plugin and it only works for v. 2.5 ?

My OpenCPN definately aborts every time a SART message arrives,or at least THIS message from a lighthouse in Shanghai. Perhaps it is faulty?

Dave also experienced the abort..

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1624

Dave, bad news and more bad news:

1) The Furuno GP3x fix (207) does not work on my Furuno 1650NT (which, according to both Furuno and GPSU is the same as a GP3x). It behaves differently than previous versions - instead of just hanging the GPS, the upload happens and the GPS gives an error message. The upload aborts with nothing uploaded after the error message appears. OpenCPN seems happy though.

2) As implemented, this is not very useful. One of the dumber things about these Furuno units is that uploading anything erases everything in the GPS. In other words, uploading even one waypoint will erase all waypoints, routes, and tracks in the GPS prior to upload. It cannot concatenate. So the ability to upload to a Furuno GPS is useless unless the route manager is changed to allow all routes and waypoints to be uploaded at once.

Unfortunately we're in the midst of moving, so it'll probably be about a week before I have a chance to look at it again. I don't have a good way to debug this, but if you want I'll try to at least get the raw NMEA dump from GPSU, which uploads just fine. I'm not sure what can be done about issue 2 though.

Dave

I can reproduce on Linux but not on XP.
The windows decorations are still missing for the tide dialog on Linux.

#200. Implement AIS activity indicator on Toolbar->AIS tool.

I fail to find any signs of this feature, but I might be blind for what's under my nose!

Anyone?

Thomas....

It seems clear that the window decorations problem, and the missing content in etc->tracks, must both be due to either 64 bit libraries, or compiler.

Do you agree?

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1624

Thomas....

If you have AIS activity, a small green circle will illuminate in the lower right corner of the toolbar->Ais icon. This is a 4 second retriggerable timer, meaning that if you get at least one AIS message every 4 seconds, the light will remain illuminated. See the file src/bitmaps/ais_alive_active.png

Don't know, but I just started an upgrade to 12.04. Perhaps that will sort it out.

Did not check the window decorations problem but with the missing content same problem here, opensuse 11.4 64 bit.
At least on my system the content is there but printed with the wrong color.
