OPENCPN 5.0 AND Bauhaus Panamá eCharts

OpenCPN crashes when I try to load a set of older KAP files for Bauhaus Panama charts. Does anyone either have newer charts that are compatible with 5.0, or possibly know the secret incantation (plugin fix) to prevent the crash while adding the new directory with these kap files?

Nothing has changed in handling of kap charts between versions 4.8.8 and 5.0.0. Which version of OpenCPN did you use before 5.0.0?


You can get a a hint of what's going on by studying the opencpn.log text file.
What does it say about your Bauhaus chart?

Your charts may need some simple editing of the text header, for example if it does not state the projection clearly.

If you want more help we have to see one of your charts.
