OpenCPN 4.2.0 crashes with another app open

Since upgrading to 4.2.0, when I have OCPN running, then open an app, like the calculator on top of it, when I click the OCPN desktop again OPCN crashes. It also loses everything that has transpired during the session. Hours of tracks, gone. I can duplicate it consistently. It seems that OCPN has to be opened first, then another app, then back to OCPN..crash. If I open the other app first then OCPN then back to calculator app then click off the side onto the OCPN desktop no crash.

Hope not to confusing. Been working with it for a few months that way, but just lost the entire trip from Raeitea to Bora Bora and the circumnavigation inside of Bora following a local boat to get to the SE corner inside.

Can't find/remember how to edit my own post

Anyway, running on Mac OS X El Capitan Ver: 10.11.4

Interesting, so I'm not crazy. There is an edit button on the second post, but not the original?? Guess you can't edit an original post in a thread, only subsequent ones....?? Not sure of the logic there, but OK.

Can't reproduce on my Mac and actually never heard about someone experiencing similar problems.
Please:
1) Upgrade to OpenCPN 4.4
2) If it behaves the same, after a crash, click on the "Report..." button and post the (long) text the window displays.

I think I'll wait on the upgrade till finished this years cruising season. Don't want to break something else and render OCPN unusable. When we get back to Tahiti for cyclone season, I will try the upgrade. I would think that you are still supporting 4.2.0 at this time???

In the meantime, I attached the crash report. This was after a clean reboot. Just ran OCPN then calculator app (I've tried other apps with the same crash) Then click the OCPN desktop and then the crash window. The report is attached.

Just to circle back and wrap this up. Now back in Tahiti getting the boat ready for bed for cyclone season.

I upgraded to 4.4.0 yesterday and that eliminated the crashing I was getting as described above. Seems like upgrade went fine all is well now.
